The murder of police officers has always been an issue, however, the immediate
and sophisticated ambushes of officers has increased dramatically. The training will
cover ways of recognizing the ambush before it occurs and ways to overcome the
ambush while it is in progress, with the goal being to have greater ability to defeat
the cop killers and save officers’ lives.
This training program consists of one day of classroom lecture and one day of
practical exercises and scenario training, based on the real-world incidents that
have injured and killed an ever increasing number of officers. Our instructors
have extensive experience in the world of law enforcement, violent attacks on
police officers and tactical responses to neutralize the threat.
This course uses lecture and hands on performance-based training designed
to increase appropriate reaction and understanding of the threat to the police
from ambushes. The curriculum is designed to provide the attendees with a
clear understanding of the threat and reporting environment. The curriculum is
designed in modules that are intended to be completed consecutively. These are
building blocks of a complete training program that includes fundamentals, survival
techniques, common mistakes made and issues of law, policy and ethics.
The course also incorporates practical exercises that reinforce each module, as
well as putting students in scenario-based ambush situations in order for them
to apply what they have learned. The instructors will incorporate lesson learned
discussions to capture major observations that the students have made throughout
the day. STG reserves the right to modify the schedule as necessary to account for
student development, abilities, or the lack thereof.

It is recommended that all participants are in
good health and good physical condition, and
capable of performing minimum physical skills
associated with firearms/range live fire training and
vehicle operations, along with driving movements
described in this course.
