Law Enforcement Response to Natural Gas Incidents
Law enforcement officers are often first on the scene for “odors of gas” calls. When gas is involved, the danger of severe injury is very real. Officers may try to rescue trapped occupants, thereby placing themselves (and possibly the victims) at a great risk. It is critical that they understand the hazards of natural gas.
This class will prepare LE officers with the skills to:
Identify 3 chemical components of natural gas
Describe the benefits and limitations of the odorant
Identify 3 components of the fire triangle
Identify at least 3 methods for identifying the presence of natural gas in an emergency
Describe 4 general types of releases for natural gas emergencies
Understand actions to be taken at a natural gas emergency incident
As emergency responders, your job is to make sure everyone is safe.
At Spire, we have the utmost respect for what you do.
So we want to help you stay safe by sharing facts about our product and the best way to respond to natural gas incidents
