Free Training to LE

This 8-hour course allows all police officers to earn CEUs while learning about nonverbal
communication, intercultural communication, and mediated communication. This course is led by a
team of interdisciplinary researchers at The University of Alabama who are interested in effective
communication paired with robots in police work. In addition to the training on various forms of
communication, officers will use simple mobile robots and provide feedback to the research team. This
training is supported by the National Science Foundation and aims to create new avenues for effective
communication. No prior experience with robots is necessary – all law enforcement officers are invited
to participate.
