Free Instructor update training, one day class at no cost.
The purpose of this training is to develop and hone the skills of law enforcement officer’s skills in shooting pistols and shotguns designed or adapted to law enforcement use. Specifically beginner level shooters will gain proficiency through practical drills with the best practices application of static pistol shooting techniques.
Also the course is designed for instructor level participants to practice the same drills and hone their personal skills and develop newly acquired techniques. Instructor level participants will be able to work on their skills without the added stress of running a training session. This course is designed to bring to light the best theory and practice for instructors to push out to their students. This will hopefully increase the awareness of the newest techniques and thereby update instructors and increase instructor networking and build the overall culture. The hope is also to introduce less experienced shooters to instructors from different agencies and develop mentoring relationships that will open the door for officers to begin the process of becoming viable instructor candidates.
In regards to the shotgun it is recognized there is a lack of understanding and training in the proper application of the shotgun in law enforcement. This lack of understanding and fundamental skills results in shotguns being locked in an arms room and never deployed, or the individual officer is intimidated by the weapon system and never utilizing a personally owned weapons. The goal is to increase competence and thereby increase availability and deployment of the shotgun. The idea here is that the better trained and equipped officer is more affective in deadly force situations and a safer officer.
