cases
3.Officers who work closely with local child death review teams
4. Officers with instruction/training experience (Day 3)
The Alabama Department of Public Health will sponsor Child Injury & Death Scene Re-enactment and Scene Reconstruction/SUIDI
Trainings. Days 1 and 2 of this training will provide officers with hands-on training and thought-provoking lectures/discussion while
providing invaluable investigation skills. The training allows investigators to advance their overall skills in working sleep-related death
and child abuse cases. Numerous real-life scenarios accompanied by doll reenactment, scene reconstruction and role-playing are
incorporated throughout this training. Overall, this training will increase the officers’ confidence to thoroughly investigate these types of
cases leading to more accurate determinations of the cause and manner of death.
Day 3 is optional and is only for officers who want to learn how to conduct and present this training for others.
THIS TRAINING IS FREE , BUT REGISTRATION IS
REQUIRED. APOST, Social Work, Nursing and EMT CEUs
have been approved. CLEs for attorneys are pending.
