The mission of Jessica Burke and Burke Educational Consulting is to make Policing Stress on the Homefront a more widely accepted set of principles all over the United States. With more and more law enforcement agencies contracting with Jessica and BEC, the need for more trainers to become skilled at teaching psychological resilience to law enforcement families is becoming evident. This is a great opportunity to enhance your agency’s current mental health provisions to involve the romantic partners of your officers. Studies are showing in upwards of 80% of police officers stating that the supportive social interaction of the romantic partner, as well as other family members is vital for psychological resilience. And with some studies showing up to 40% of police officers meeting the diagnostic criteria for PTSD, now is the time to ramp up your efforts to help officers manage their mental health and combat mental illness.
